Young winger Matty Phillips was on target as Wycombe continued their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 win over Maidenhead.

All the talk at Adams Park over the summer may have been about the comings and goings, with Russ Martin and Sergio Torres joining Peterborough and new boss Peter Taylor bringing in Lewwis Spence, John Mousinho, Gavin Grant, Chris Zebroski and Magno Silva Vieira.

But it was 17-year-old youth graduate Phillips who had the crowd buzzing with a lively second-half performance culminating in a fine individual goal 11 minutes from time.

Zebroski, Mousinho and Vieira played the first half before Taylor made 11 changes, with Grant and Spence among the second-half team.

Midfielder Gary Holt, who has a muscle strain, is expected to be fit when Wanderers travel to Forest Green on Saturday.
