Peter Taylor hopes the competition for places in attack can help fire the Chairboys to promotion.

New recruit Chris Zebroski, a £20,000 signing from Millwall, will compete with Scott McGleish, Leon Knight and John Sutton for a place in Wycombe's attack.

"We didn't score enough goals last season and needed more competition up front," Taylor told the Bucks Free Press. "But no one is a certain starter."

The signing of 21-year-old Zebroski on a two-year deal puts an end to Wanderers' interest in Gillingham striker Delroy Facey.

Taylor added: "We couldn't get close to Delroy's package, but I think we're okay in that department now."
