Boss Gary Waddock insist there are plenty of positive to take from Wycombe's 3-2 defeat to Walsall.

Waddock described the performance as the best since he took charge of the club, and is confident Wanderers' fortunes will soon change if they continue to produce that kind of display.

"We are gutted. There were a number of opportunities for us which we didn't take and on another day the scoreline would have been different," said Waddock.

"For periods of the game we played extremely well. The first half was the best we've played since I came here and we forced them into changing their system.

"It's hard to take when you're two-nil up at half-time, but we knew the next goal would be very important.

"We will take the positives though because if we play like that we will win football matches and our first half performance was not one you would normally see from a team at the bottom of the league."
