Former Wrexham goalkeeper Michael Jones is relishing a "fresh start" after signing a one-year deal with Blue Square Premier Northwich.
The 20-year-old - who was released by the Dragons at the start of May - came through the youth set-up at the Racecourse Ground but struggled to hold onto a first-team berth for much of the 2007/08 campaign.
Jones only appeared nine times for the Dragons last season after he found himself as back-up to regular `keepers Mike Ingham, Anthony Williams and Gavin Ward and will now hope to line up against his former club next season.
He told the Flintshire Standard: "This is a fresh start, I can go to Northwich and play Conference football, hopefully regularly.
"I want to be number one, I wouldn't have signed otherwise.
"I had offers from other clubs but I wanted everything sorted before I went on holiday."
