Wrexham first-team coach Martin Foyle is hoping Carl Tremarco's decision to sign a new deal with the club will spark an influx of summer signings at the Racecourse Ground.

Tremarco ended intense speculation regarding his future by snubbing moves to Chester and Rotherham in favour of penning a two-year deal with the Dragons.

Foyle believes keeping hold of the 22-year-old represents a major coup for the Blue Square Premier outfit.

"That's the first one signed up and even better that he is someone who could have stayed with a league club, but still chose to stick with us," said Foyle.

"You could see the difference he made when returning to the team at Lincoln [the 4-2 win on the last day of the season].

"That's the sort of quality we are looking at for next season and he will be just the first of a number of signings as we go through the summer."
