Wrexham boss Brian Little is scouring the transfer market in the hope of luring a potent goalscorer and a defender to the club.

Little has made sweeping squad changes since relegation to the Blue Square Premier was confirmed last month and has now set his sights on luring some "fresh faces" to the Racecourse Ground.

"We want fresh faces in and experience would be important, but I am not saying I wouldn't be interested in signing young players," Little told Flintshire Evening Leader.

"Initially you look at the backbone of your side.

"So we need a bit of pace up front and possibly some pace at the back.

"We did not score enough this season and also conceded too many goals."
