Watford have been handed a home tie against Bristol Rovers in the first round of the 2008/2009 Carling Cup.

The tie will be played during the week commencing August 11.

The Gas finished 16th in League One last season and made steady progress in the FA Cup until their defeat to eventual semi-finalists West Brom.
