Aidy Boothroyd wants to extend Watford midfielder John-Joe O'Toole's loan spell at Colchester.

The 21-year-old has started all 10 games since former Hornets boss Boothroyd snapped him up in September, helping the Us to a nine-match unbeaten run prior to Saturday's defeat at Millwall.

O'Toole is due back at Vicarage Road in January but Boothroyd is hoping to keep him and fellow loanees Kevin Lisbie and Kayode Odejayi until the end of the season.

"I have got to see if I can do something that keeps Kevin here until the end of the season and the same goes for John-Joe and Kayode," said Boothroyd.
