West Brom new-boy Jonas Olsson has revealed the club's attractive brand of football helped lure him to the Hawthorns.

The Swedish defender has joined the Baggies from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen and is looking forward to establishing himself in Tony Mowbray's side.

He told the club's official website: "I had a quick chat with him (Mowbray) on Friday and he told me a bit about his football philosophy. I really got a good impression of him and I'm happy to be here.

"It feels a lot like the Dutch way of playing, and I think it will suit me well. The tempo here is obviously higher, but I think most of the English and Dutch teams are similar in that they want to play the ball along the ground.

"I think most of the Swedish players are focusing on getting into the Premier League and I'm going to do everything on my part to make the best of my opportunity.

"The goal for West Brom is to stay in the Premier League and I aim to contribute to that."
