West Brom manager Tony Mowbray has not ruled out sending new signing Graham Dorrans out on loan next season.
The Scotland Under-21 international recently completed a £100,000 move from Livingston, signing a two-year contract with Albion.
Dorrans, 21, was named PFA Scottish Division One player of the year last season after scoring 12 goals for Livingston.
Mowbray told the club's official website: "He's jumping from Livingston in the Scottish First Division to come to the Premier League. It's a huge step.
"He could surpass all my expectations. But my expectation is he comes through pre-season with us and gets used to the demands. Then if he does well enough in some of the games he might go out on loan to play some football.
"If not, he'll play in our reserves against some top Premier League reserve teams and develop that way."
