Robert Koren became the fifth West Brom player to book his place at next summer's World Cup having helped Slovenia see off Russia in their qualifying play-off second leg on Wednesday night.

Captain Koren played the entire 90 minutes as he guided his country to only their third major tournament since gaining their independence in 1991.

Slovenia emerged victorious on the away goals rule having secured a crucial 1-0 win over Russia in Maribor, with the tie tied 2-2 on aggregate following Saturday's first leg.

Koren now joins New Zealand team-mate Chris Wood, Slovakia's Marek Cech, Ivory Coast's Abdoulaye Meite and Chile's Gonzalo Jara in South Africa next year.
