Andy Murray ratcheted the home crowd expectation up another notch with another clinical execution on Centre Court.

This time the victim was Serbia's Viktor Troicki, who was out-hit, outsmarted and totally outclassed by Murray in a 6-2 6-3 6-4 third-round demolition which took just one hour and 36 minutes.

It took Murray into the second week of Wimbledon where he will play Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka in the fourth round, and on this form it will take something extraordinary to stop him reaching next Sunday's final.

In other top men's clashes, Andy Roddick dropped a set but overcame close friend Austria's Juergen Melzer, while Lleyton Hewitt continued his fine run by ousting Philip Petzshner of Germany.

Tomas Berdych beat no 11 seed Nikolay Davydenko in straight sets, while Stanislaw Wawrinka beat qualifier Jesse Levine.

Tommy Haas won his marathon clash with Marin Cilic that hung over from the previous evening at 6-6 in the final set, both having had match points.

In the women's singles, there were easy wins for champion Venus Williams, Caroline Wozniacki, Dinara Safina and former champion Amelie Mauresmo.
