Maria Sharapova claims she has recovered from her shoulder injury in time to mount a challenge at this year's Wimbledon Championship which starts on Monday.

Sharapova has been out of action for nearly a year, but has come back to reach the quarter-finals at the French Open as well as her first grass court tournament of the year in Birmingham.

The Russian, who has won three Grand Slam titles in her career, is looking to emulate her win at the All England Club in 2004.

Sharapova has been seeded 24th for the tournament and will have to beat qualifier Viktoriya Kutuzova to reach the second round.
