Roberto Martinez lavished praise on Swansea midfielder Ferrie Bodde following his stunning strike at Preston.

Bodde, who was publicly courted by Derby in the summer before pledging his future to the Swans, rifled home from 40 yards to stun Deepdale during an impressive 2-0 victory over North End.

Martinez hailed Bodde's inspirational performance and predicted his 20th-minute piledriver could be the first of many spectacular strikes this season.

"I've never seen anyone strike the ball as well as he does - and he can do exactly the same with the right as he can with the left," said Martinez.
