Ferrie Bodde has revealed Swansea boss Roberto Martinez will allow him to leave the club and finally join Derby.
Bodde's on-off transfer saga has dominated the headlines in recent weeks and the Rams have already had two bids rejected for the 26-year-old midfielder.
The Dutchman has sparked fresh speculation over his future by so far failing to link up on Swansea's pre-season tour of Sweden, and believes a deal with Derby is drawing ever closer.
"The talk of a transfer to Derby has been dragging on for too long now," Bodde told Sky Sports.
"I had a personal meeting with the manager [Martinez], he is a good man and has helped me since I have played in the UK and he understands the reasons I want to leave and he told me that there can be a deal with Derby.
"Everyone at Swansea has been great with me and they are a great club, I will always love them but Derby is a big club, with big players and big finances and a history of playing in the Premier League. Everybody knows that's what I want. Now I just hope a deal can be done this week."
