The Barclays Premier League got underway on August 16 for the 17th time since its inception. West Brom, Stoke & Hull were all promoted to the top-flight. Luiz Felipe Scolari bagged the top job at Stamford Bridge and Manchester United legend, Mark Hughes became manager of Manchester City. Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor scored the second fastest ever hat-trick in the Premier League whilst former Barcelona star Deco made an instant impact at Chelsea.
Do not forget that the pain of having to wait until August 15, when the 2009/10 season kicks off, for your next fix of top-flight football can be eased by returning every Monday to see what our next Premier League review will be focussing on, beginning this week when we reveal our Virgin Media Team of the Season.
