Southampton contract rebel Nathan Dyer will make his first appearance of pre-season in the friendly at Eastleigh on Saturday.

The winger has been banned from training with the first team after stalling on a new contract and will not take part in Claus Lundekvam's testimonial against Celtic on Friday night.

However, boss Jan Poortvliet is hopeful Dyer, who has been linked with a move along the south coast to Portsmouth, will still agree terms with Saints.

"He is in talks with the club and we hope he will sign," said Poortvliet.

"He is not training with the first team at the moment while he has not signed but we can use him."

Striker Marek Saganowski will also figure after being given extra time off following his Euro 2008 exertions with Poland.
