Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws feels new loan signing Jimmy Smith can have a major impact at the club next season.

Chelsea midfielder Smith, 21, has joined the Owls on loan until January and Laws was delighted to secure the starlet's signature.

"I'm really pleased to secure the services of Jimmy Smith," said Laws.

"He's a high-energy player with an abundance of natural talent and I'm extremely confident he can make a difference to our midfield.

"Obviously Jimmy has had an excellent grounding at Chelsea and he also has the benefit of already having played Championship football with QPR and Norwich."
