Sheffield United plc chairman Kevin McCabe has taken on the role of football club chairman on an interim basis.
McCabe, whose family own more than 75% of the Blades, will have additional responsibility following current chairman Terry Robinson's decision to step down.
McCabe said: "It was always the intention that Terry would step down because of his other commitments and responsibilities with Sheffield United football business both here and abroad.
"In the meantime, as in interim move for next season, I will step in as chairman to provide continuity until a replacement is found."
Robinson will remain a director of the football club board and will continue to head-up operations at Hungarian sister club Ferencvaros.
