Sheffield United have appointed Kevin McCabe as interim chairman of the football club board.

McCabe, who is also chairman of Sheffield United PLC, replaces Terry Robinson, who will remain as a director.

Robinson will continue to oversee operations at Blades' Hungarian sister club Ferencvaros and take an active role in football-related matters at Bramall Lane.

"It was always the intention that Terry would step down because of his other commitments and responsibilities with Sheffield United football business both here and abroad," said Mr McCabe.

"In the meantime, as in interim move for next season, I will step in as chairman to provide continuity until a replacement is found."
