Goalkeeper Paddy Kenny believes manager Kevin Blackwell can follow in the footsteps of former boss Neil Warnock and mastermind the Blades' promotion to the Premier League.
United enjoyed a huge upturn in fortunes following Blackwell's arrival in February and their flagging season was turned on its head as they narrowly missed out on the play-offs.
Republic of Ireland international Kenny believes Blackwell's motivational skills were the main reason for United's resurgence and is hopeful of carrying their good form into the next campaign.
He told the Sheffield Star: "Once Blacky came in, everyone was buzzing. He is in a similar mould to Neil Warnock, and the players have a great understanding with him.
"So hopefully next season should bring what everyone wants and expects for Sheffield United - promotion."
