Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe revealed that he is ready to relinquish control of the club as soon as he finds a suitable successor.
Lifelong Blades fan McCabe failed in his quest to spearhead a return to the Premier League this season and admits that the club needs a fresh face and new ideas to take them forward.
McCabe told the club's official website: "I don't believe this football club should be dominated by one person for any considerable period of time. I do believe others with drive and energy should have their say and eventually take the stewardship - but not forever.
"I don't live in Sheffield or the UK anymore for personal reasons. But I work night and day for Sheffield United, whether I am selling the Blades and thinking up ideas for the Blades to try and keep us progressing but we don't go on forever.
"Same as choosing a manager I need to choose wisely when handing over the reigns of the chairmanship. If I can find that person, and I have got some ideas, that's when the handover will occur."
