Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell could be forced to turn to the loan market again to help ease the injury crisis at Bramall Lane.

But Blackwell, struggling to name 11 fit first-team players for Monday night's derby clash at Barnsley, already has the maximum number of players on loan who he can include in his matchday squad.

The Blades were without nine first-team players for Monday night's home defeat to Newcastle and then lost Kyle Walker (ankle) and skipper Chris Morgan, who is suspended after reaching five yellow cards for the season.

Defender Jordan Stewart strained his calf during the warm-up on Monday night and was forced to play due to the injury crisis but now he has also been ruled out while midfielder Stephen Quinn is struggling with illness.

Gary Naysmith, Derek Geary (both knee), Richard Cresswell (ribs), Jamie Ward (broken wrist), Nick Montgomery (knee), Lee Williamson (back), Andrew Davies (knee), Andrew Taylor (thigh) and Paddy Kenny (drugs ban) are all still unavailable.
