"Obviously Grand Slam winners Wales will be tough to beat as will France and Ireland but, to be honest, the 6 Nations has now got to such a high standard that there is no easy game," Flood told Virgin Media. "I think that's the way it should be in international rugby."

As for England's chances, Flood says the squad is going in th eright direction after a torrid set of Autumn internationals.

"I don't want to put any money on it but I think the squad's going in the right direction. Obviously the Autumn wasn't great for us but there were a lot of positives to take out of it and moving forward as a squad there is definitely a lot of potential."
