Rotherham are still anxiously waiting for a decision from transfer target Michael Boulding over a proposed switch to the Don Valley Stadium.
The Millers face competition for the 32-year-old striker from League Two rivals Grimsby and Lincoln, but manager Mark Robins has made further contact with the Stags forward since his return from holiday and has not given up on landing his man.
Rotherham assistant manager John Breckin told The Star: "We are still talking and Michael has spoken with Mark Robins again."
Boulding, who scored 22 goals despite Mansfield's relegation from League Two last season, has reportedly been offered a new contract at Field Mill but is understood to want to play league football.
