Striker Aruna Dindane thanked team-mate Kevin-Prince Boateng after scoring his first hat-trick in England against Wigan.

Pompey destroyed the Latics 4-0 with Dindane grabbing three and Frederic Piquionne also getting on the scoresheet at Fratton Park.

Dindane completed his treble in the final minute of the game when Boateng handed him the ball to finish from the spot after Kanu had been upended by Emmerson Boyce.

"Prince said to me `take it for your hat-trick. Take the ball and score`," said Dindane.

"For a striker, football is all about confidence. It's difficult if you haven't got confidence. But everyone here at the club has helped me so much so I'm very happy for them.

"The confidence has come for me and Frederic Piquionne - and we can do better."
