Port Vale manager Lee Sinnott insists there is a lot of work to be done before the season kicks off next month.

The players have now returned for pre-season training ahead of their opening game of the season on August 9 - away at Luton.

Sinnott told the club's official website: "We had a bit of a taste of things towards the end of last season when our form started to approach something that I find satisfactory.

"We had four wins, four draws and two losses in our final 10 games and if you can convert one of those draws into a win you are showing form that is capable of bringing success.

"There is a lot of hard work to be done of course, but you want that feel-good factor around the club."
