Manager Darren Ferguson expects midfielder Sergio Torres to become "a fans' favourite" at Peterborough after the club agreed a fee with Wycombe.

The 27-year-old will complete the move if he passes a medical at the start of next week.

And Ferguson believes the Argentine, who started 40 games in League Two last season, will wow the fans with his flair.

"It's a great signing for us," he told the club's official website. "Sergio is an exciting player who is sure to be a fans' favourite. He has pace and skill, but he also has great versatility as he's decent down the middle as well.

"We've done well to get him and fair play to the chairman for backing me again."

The club have not confirmed the transfer fee but Ferguson confirmed it was a "fair bit of money".
