Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson is confident that Histon midfielder Josh Simpson can make an impact at London Road.

Simpson has arrived at Posh on loan until the end of the year and Ferguson wants him to improve the side.

Ferguson told the club's official website: "Josh is a player that has been on the radar for a little while and he impressed greatly when he came in on trial.

"I am pleased to have him on board. He can play just behind the strikers or on the right and gives us good options.

"We are still looking to get a striker in but it is difficult. There is no point in our situation bringing in players to improve the squad - they need to make our starting XI better."
