Notts County manager Ian McParland is looking to bring another striker to the club.

McParland has already brought in Jamie Forrester from Lincoln City this summer and currently has Greg Pearson on trial, but the manager would like to strengthen his attacking options further.

He told the Nottingham Evening Post: "I have got a budget to work with and it's not the best budget in the league, but we have still got targets.

"I want to try and get another couple of young players in on loan to add to the squad, and everybody knows I am still after a striker which hopefully might be sorted next week."

The Magpies begin their League Two campaign in three weeks against Bradford City at Valley Parade, and only have Forrester and Spencer Weir-Daley contracted at Meadow Lane.

McParland will also decide whether to give a deal to Pearson next week, adding: "We have watched him and he has been excellent."
