Notts County defender Mike Edwards may miss the Magpies pre-season trip to Austria.

County are set to fly to Obertraun on Saturday for a week-long tour, but Edwards' wife is due to give birth to their second child on the same day.

Magpies manager Ian McParland stressed it is a case of family coming first for the 28-year-old.

"The baby is due on the day we go, and I am hoping it will come now to be honest," McParland told the club's official website.

"But in all seriousness, family is most important and if the baby hasn't arrived when we leave then he will stay behind.

"Mike has been flying in pre-season training and it would be nice to have him over there with us."
