Notts County assistant manager Dave Kevan admits the club need to bring in younger players as they seek the perfect blend of youth and experience.
New recruits Michael Johnson, 34, and Jamie Forrester, 33, have joined a squad already well-represented by players over 30.
"It is important to find the right blend, and we would like a bit more youth around the club - there's no getting away from that," he told the club's official website.
"But by the same token we are very pleased with the experienced players we have."
Kevan believes that the club's senior professionals can be invaluable to the development of younger players, adding: "I am sure the young players we have will learn from those types of personalities and professionals that we have."
