Notts County midfielder Gavin Strachan is eyeing revenge when his side kick off their League Two campaign away to Bradford City.
The 29-year-old's Magpies career has been disrupted by injury since becoming Ian McParland's first permenant signing at Meadow Lane in January 2008.
But Strachan expects to be fit for pre-season preparations after a medial knee ligaments injury in April, and the Bradford encounter is foremost in his mind.
"This particular game has an extra motivation for myself as it was the same fixture last season that I made my County debut, which unfortunately we lost 3-0," he told the club's official website.
"It is a great opening fixture as it gives us something to aim for during the pre-season.
"It is a fantastic arena to play in and to get a victory there on the opening day will get us off to a great start and signal our intent for the rest of the season."
