Northampton manager Stuart Gray is challenging his players to be one of the fittest teams in League One.

The Cobblers missed out on a play-off place by 10 points last season and in the coming campaign Gray hopes to overwhelm the opposition with high-tempo, high-scoring football.

"I think we are looking solid, the players have been running really hard in pre-season and I've said to them that we need to be one of the fittest teams in the league.

"I want us to play at a high tempo. We showed last season that we are capable of doing that and when we did that I think the fans appreciated the type of football we were playing.

"We want to entertain the fans by creating chances and scoring goals. You can never have enough goalscorers in your team and hopefully we've got another goalscorer in Leon Constantine."
