Chesterfield chairman Barrie Hubbard has announced that he has "no intention" of allowing Jamie Ward to leave the club.
Ward, 22, who scored 12 goals in his first full season for the Spireites last term, has been heavily linked with a move to League One club Northampton.
Hubbard told the Derbyshire Times: "I have no intention of allowing Jamie Ward to leave Chesterfield Football Club. As far as I am concerned, Ward is stopping here.
"There have been no offers, not one. As far as I am concerned there have been no enquiries."
