Nori Haga could be back in action in the Superbike World Championship at the end of the July after injuries he suffered on at Donington on Sunday were not as bad a first feared.

The Ducati Xerox team are optimistic Haga, who saw his championship lead cut to 14 points by double race winner Ben Spies (Yamaha World Superbike), will recover enough to be able to race in the Czech Republic round at Brno on July 26.

Haga crashed during the second race of the British round but did not suffer a fractured vertebra as was first feared.

Haga was on Monday due to undergo surgery to insert a plate and screws in his right forearm and to set a fracture of his right ulna.

He may also face surgery on his right shoulder blade although that is not confirmed.

If the surgery to the ulna is a success, the team are hopeful Haga could be back on track at Brno.
