Jorge Lorenzo has admitted he does not need any more motivation as he will arrive for his home race at Jerez as leader of the FIM MotoGP World Championship.
The Spaniard took over the championship lead with victory in the previous race in Japan, and the Fiat Yamaha rider hopes for a repeat in front of his home fans.
Lorenzo said: "My motivation is high because I am arriving as the World Championship leader in my own home. I can't ask for more."
Lorenzo admitted he had enjoyed the Motegi race where he felt at home on his Yamaha.
"I had a very good feeling in Japan, and I enjoyed riding the bike in every corner," he explained.
"I have to be careful, however, because I am still learning all the time how to ride with the new Bridgestone tyres."
Lorenzo expects to do well at Jerez because of his encouraging performance at the circuit during pre-season testing.
"The last test in Jerez was very good. I was always in the first three positions, so I hope to be fast from the start this weekend," he added.
"I would like another podium, like last year in Jerez and like the first two races in 2009. I am confident."
Lorenzo heads to Jerez with a lead of one point over team-mate Valentino Rossi, with Ducati Marlboro rider Casey Stoner in third two points further back.
