Morecambe midfielder Fraser McLachlan is set to put a nightmare season behind him as the Shrimps' friendlies begin.

The former Stockport man suffered a broken leg last year, making a lone league appearance on the last day of the season, but having signed a one-year extension to his contract last month, the midfielder is looking forward to getting back to playing again.

"Last season was frustrating. The injury was by far the worst I've ever had, but I didn't want it to get the better of me.

"Now I want to forget about last year and play as many games as possible this season. I know I will have to work hard, but I will be giving it my all."
