Morecambe have announced they are to delay the opening of their new stadium until July 2010.
The ground's original opening date was to be in July 2009 but delays in the planning, legal and sales agreements have delayed the schedule by a year.
The Shrimps board expects work to start on the new stadium by May 2009 and it should be ready for the start of the 2010/2011 season.
Chairman, Peter McGuigan told the club's official website: "Although we are disappointed that there has been this deferral it must be recognised that the original planned opening date was ambitious but recent events have left us with no alternative other than to defer the opening date.
"I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the process so far for all of their hard work and commitment.
"Bearing in mind that the thought of a new stadium only began in April last year, it is to their credit that the progress since then has been quite amazing and I am confident that we will deliver a fantastic stadium when completed."
