Morecambe assistant manager Mark Lillis was full of praise for his players after they sealed only their second win of the season, emerging 3-1 victors over Lincoln.
After last week's heavy home defeat against Northampton the Shrimps' players were denied a day off in midweek and were rewarded for their extra efforts with their first win in seven games.
Goals from Stewart Drummond, Phil Jevons (pen) and Paul Mullin proved to be the difference, Rene Howe scored a late consolation for the Imps and the visitors ended the game with 10 men when Eric Lichaj was sent off for kicking out at Laurence Wilson.
Lillis said: "We had the lads in every day this week, which is something we don't normally do.
"But we knew we had to change a few things after last week's defeat and we worked really hard on all aspects of our game. The lads responded superbly. They showed superb determination and once we went 2-0 up there was a real resolve to keep that lead."
He added: "We were great and thoroughly deserved the win. We knew we were under a bit of pressure after the start we have had, but we have never doubted the ability of the squad we have."
