Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy admits the pressure is intensifying on his squad after a woeful start to the season.

The Shrimps have won only once in their last 14 league games leading to mounting pressure on McIlroy.

They go into Saturday's game with Lincoln in 21st place, but McIlroy believes a few positive results will transform his side.

"We are all working hard to try and rectify the situation," McIlroy told BBC Radio Lancashire. "I'm the one who takes the stick and people point their finger at and that's part of management.

"We've had nine draws and the disappointing thing is we didn't manage to turn some of those draws into wins.

"It's very frustrating at the moment but I know one or two good results can turn things in our favour and that's what I keep telling the players."
