Millwall striker Gary Alexander is facing a spell on the sidelines with a heel problem.

The 30-year-old suffered the injury shortly after scoring the winner against Leeds last week and was forced to miss Saturday's victory over Colchester.

"Gary has been playing through the pain barrier but the Leeds match triggered the bone spur on his heel to flare up," said Lions physio Bobby Bacic.

"We are going to put him in an aircast boot for two weeks and then review him."
