Leyton Orient's new arrival Ryan Jarvis has expressed his delight after rejoining the club just over a year after his successful loan spell at Brisbane Road.

The striker, who signed a two-year deal on Wednesday, played a huge part in helping the O's avoid relegation from League One during the 2006/07 season, scoring six goals in 14 games as the campaign drew to a close.

And he is hoping to continue that form again this season - but hopefully by helping the club's aspirations at the right end of the table.

"It's great to be back," he told the club's official website. "I enjoyed my loan spell here two seasons ago, so as soon as I got the phone call to say Leyton Orient were interested again, I was keen to get things sorted.

"There wasn't anywhere else I wanted to go so I'm really pleased to have signed. It was good playing under Martin Ling and Dean Smith when I was here before and they were a big factor in my decision to come here."

He added: "I was keeping track on how Orient were doing last year and they were up in the top six until Christmas. Things died down a bit in the second half of the season but it was a good progression given that we were fighting for relegation the season before. Hopefully we can continue to push on this year."
