Ipswich have signed striker Kevin Lisbie from League One side Colchester for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old arrives at Portman Road on a three-year deal, after bagging 17 goals during his one-year stint at Layer Road.

Lisbie began his career in 1995 with Charlton Athletic, where he spent 12 years and made 155 appearances for the Addicks.

However, he was unable to hold down a regular first-team place at The Valley and was dispatched on loan spells to Gillingham, Reading, QPR, Derby and local rivals Norwich.

The Jamaican international was released by Charlton last summer before being snapped up by the U's but he was unable to prevent his new club from suffering relegation from the Championship.

Lisbie becomes the Tractor Boys` third signing of the summer, with defenders Pim Balkestein and Gareth McAuley both joining Jim Magilton`s side.
