Ipswich manager Jim Magilton was satisfied after his side claimed a 2-0 friendly win over League Two Brentford.

Dutch defender Pim Balkestein marked his first appearance for the club with a towering header to open the scoring after 58 minutes, and Danny Haynes added the second with a rebound after his penalty had been saved.

Magilton told the club's official website: "It was a good work out for the players and gives us something to build on.

"It was good to see Pim get on the scoresheet. It's a nice way to start his career here."
