Teenage striker Jordan Rhodes is set to commit his long-term future to Ipswich by signing a new contract until 2011.

The 18-year-old, a product of the club's academy, has agreed to a new three-year deal and will sign early next week.

Rhodes made eight appearances for the first-team last season, scoring his first goal for the club in a 1-1 draw against Cardiff, and was top scorer in the reserves with more than 30 goals.

"Jordan made great progress last season and became an important member of the first-team squad," Town boss Jim Magilton told the club's website.

"The new contract is good news for him and he fully deserves it."
