Ipswich boss Jim Magilton expects Dean Bowditch's future to be confirmed next week when the player returns to pre-season training.

The 22-year-old is out of contract but has been offered a one-year deal by the Portman Road manager despite spending the majority of last season on-loan at Northampton and Brighton.

Magilton told the club's official website: "He has been offered a new one year contract and we will see where that takes us.

"Dean's away on holiday at the moment and thinking over his decision and I'm sure we will be talking next week."
