Hull boss Phil Brown believes new-boy Bernard Mendy will bring his side much-needed experience this season.

Mendy signed a three-year deal on Friday and Brown believes the 26-year-old's flexibility will also be a big asset to his squad.

"What Bernard will hopefully bring to the team is international pedigree," Brown told the club's official website.

"He has vast experience from the French Premier League and I think he has some unfinished business where the French national team is concerned. Hopefully we can help him fulfil that here."

Mendy is unlikely to feature in the club's first pre-season game against North Ferriby United on Monday having not yet trained with his new team-mates.

City's other new signings, Geovanni and Craig Fagan, are expected to play at Church Road.
