Hull manager Phil Brown has revealed he is looking to make "six or seven" new signings in addition to Craig Fagan's arrival on a permanent deal.
The Tigers returned for pre-season training on Monday ahead of their first campaign in the Premier League, and Brown knows he has work to do to make the club competitive.
"We have to make sure that come August 16 we are physically prepared, mentally prepared and that our transfer targets have bolstered our squad," he told the club's official website.
"Things are ongoing and I'm sure I'll be getting asked the question right up until August 31. Everybody has a job to do, but at the moment my responsibility is to answer the question with a straight bat. We haven't signed anybody yet.
"We've verbally agreed things with regards Craig Fagan, which came out a couple of weeks ago. The two clubs have agreed things and we're waiting for Craig to come back from holiday and sign the papers. That's the first one.
"Hopefully there will be six or seven others following Craig into the club."
