Hull assistant manager Brian Horton has confirmed the Premier League newcomers have expressed an interest in signing Tottenham defender Anthony Gardner.

The 26-year-old, who spent the end of last season on loan at Everton without making an appearance due to injury, played under Horton at Port Vale before being sold to Spurs for £1million eight years ago.

Horton told the Yorkshire Post: "I know Anthony very well and he is a player we have asked about but he would cost a lot of money and there are other clubs interested."
